This piece will end up part of a larger recreation of one of Harley Quinn's costumes from Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), but it also works well by itself!
I used charms that I had on hand and a variety of different chains to make this. The chains are all connected via jump rings to two oversized lobster clasps that are meant for keychains, but are strong enough to hold this many thick necklace chains all at once. The thicker chains were too tough for my pliers, so they had to be cut with bolt cutters!
I twisted and wove the chains together to blend them together into one thick necklace. After I got the chains the way I wanted them, I put the charms on! I chose a single angel wing, a key, a snake, an eyeball, and a safety pin to mimic the eclectic combination on Harley's necklace from the movie. I decided to not include the Brucie dog tag, which she adds after the hyena's death at the hands of Roman Sionis, aka Black Mask, since I plan on wearing this outfit in a group costume with my mom as Brucie.
I'm super pleased with how this turned out! I think it successfully emulates Harley's necklace while still making it original. I do plan on wearing it outside of the costume, but since it's so heavy it's more of a special occasion piece.
My resin pendants are a mix of extra resin from dice pours and deliberate pieces!
The green pendants were an experiment with how much mica powder I can put in resin and still have it cure properly, and they turned a really interesting oxidized copper color when all the colors mixed! Some particles settled, which is why there are the colorful specks on the larger piece and the gold streak on the smaller one.
The red pendant was a test piece for a custom set of dice for my friend's birthday. The red is from alcohol ink, while the gold texture is from mica powder.
The crystal full of tiny people meant for train models was for my mom's birthday, and it has a matching coaster to go with (also filled with people!) I didn't add anything to the resin other than the little people.
I made these two chokers in middle school, when I was experimenting with steampunk.
The one on the top is a ribbon with clock and key charms that I ordered online, and the closure is ribbon clams with a lobster clasp. I was inspired by Alice in Wonderland!
The one on the bottom is leather with studs and skull, pentacle, and gear charms. The closure is a snap, which I attached with my snap press! I chose turquoise thread to attach the charms since it contrasts nicely with the warm leather and antiqued bronze. This choker is inspired by more apocalyptic steampunk style!
I've made a couple color variants of these earrings, but pink is the only one I kept for myself. These earrings are super simple, they're just sandwich swords from Giant with jump rings to some earring hooks.
They add a nice pop to whatever I wear them with, and since they're clear they always catch the light nicely! They're also super light weight, so even though they're long I can wear them basically indefinitely without my ears getting tired like they might if they were metal or acrylic.
I like giving different colors of them to people for their birthdays, and so far I've made a pink and orange set, a blue set, this pink set, and a green set. They're super popular too, everyone that I've given them to wears them a bunch!
